Blackburn have definitely gone under the radar in this competition, with bigger teams, and bigger underdogs, making it to this stage. But Gary Bowyer’s team have a formidable front line at any level, with Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede likely to give Liverpool’s back three a tough time.
Now out of the Europa League, this competition is Liverpool’s only chance of silverware this season. Brendan Rodgers is therefore likely to play his strongest possible side, which should be too much for the Championship club – though they will put up a strong fight.
