The date has been set, with a clash against Aston Villa awaiting the winners.
Football fans were uproar as it was revealed that Liverpool’s FA Cup sixth round replay with Blackburn Rovers wouldn’t take place until a month’s time, and the date has now been confirmed as Wednesday 8 April, the Liverpool Echo reports.
As a result of the replay being unable to be played on the same night as Europa League or Champions League football, and with there being an international break at the end of March, the fixture has had to be pushed back.
The winner’s will take on Aston Villa in the semi-finals, having avoided the holders Arsenal in Monday night’s draw, who beat Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Bradford City and Reading’s replay will be staged on Monday 16 March – just two days before both sides are due for league action.
