Chelsea’s influential Spanish midfielder, formerly of Arsenal and Barcelona, Cesc Fabregas is confident the Blues can get even better despite already being six points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Fabregas has contributed to a ruthless Chelsea season, helping them get above current champions Manchester City, who sit in second, having played a game less.
The Spain virtuoso knows the team can get even better as the players play with each other and get to know each other more.
Quoted in the Express, he said, “It’s a young team that has yet to mature and gain more experience,” the 27-year-old said.
“But this what you do when you keep playing matches together and get to know each other better.
“I’m sure these players will bring a lot of joy to the fans.”
Since his €33 million move from Catalan giants Barcelona Fabregas has performed extremely well, making 19 assists, as well as scoring four goals in 34 games. The Spaniard has struggled of late to recapture the imperious form which saw him win fans and inspire awe at the start of the Premier League season, though his side look likely to win another Premier League title, which will be some consolation.
