The French league leaders top transfer target is believed to be Ligue 1 top scorer Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports in French magazine Le10Sport, and they could look to finance a move for the Lyon striker by putting their Uruguayan international up for sale.

Cavani joined PSG for a reported fee of £55m from Serie A side Napoli in the summer of 2013 and went on to score 25 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions in his debut season in France.

This season the 28-year-old has struck just eight times in the league, with the last coming in a 4-2 win against Evian back in January, although he does have to play in a more unfamilar wide role to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

A move to the Premier League could be next for Cavani who has been linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool this season, Reds legend Phil Thompson told Sky Sports last week that the striker is the type of calibre that his former side should be looking at, while the Gunners were tipped to sign the player by the Metro in February.
