The Metro claim that Louis van Gaal has already ‘tentatively’ agreed to sign two top talents.

The Premier League side’s long running pursuit of Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels is apparently close to completion with the £35m rated German international seemingly an ideal candidate to beef up Man United’s back-line.

Louis van Gaal looks set to reunite with former Netherland national team charge Memphis Depay with the £20m rated PSV Eindhoven man also said to be the subject of growing Man United interest.

The need for a wide-attacker could well stem from Angel di Maria’s inability to make an impact in his debut season at the club, though it would perhaps be harsh were Man United to look to sell the Argentine quite so long.

Depay is in the best form of his career to date, topping the Eredivisie goal-scoring charts, proving he is adept at providing an end product as well as being able to supply the ammunition for more central attacking weapons.
