Liverpool are reported as closing in on the signing of talented Ukranian winger Yevhen Konoplyanka from Dnipro on a free transfer this summer.
The 25-year-old is dubbed a ‘world class winger’ in a report by the Metro, who also claim Manchester United have been chasing him ahead of the next transfer window, though Anfield looks increasingly likely to be his next destination as he sought a big move to the Premier League.
Liverpool could do with more options in the attacking midfield department as they sweat over the future of Raheem Sterling, who is stalling on signing a new contract at the club amid rumoured interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City.
Konoplyanka seems to be a highly rated talent based on his career so far, though it remains to be seen if he can cut it in a more competitive league.
The player himself, however, is confident he can succeed in England, saying: “My goal as a child was to play in England.
“The leagues are stronger and I still want to try my hand there.”
