Ivanovic’s current deal with the Blues runs out at the end of next season and February 2016 is the earliest planned time to sit down and discuss an extension.

Going along with Chelsea’s trend of giving ageing players new contracts, it would seem that the former Lokomotiv Moscow man will only be given a one year extension. Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola is monitoring the situation according to the paper and knows that Ivanovic would ideally prefer the security of a longer term deal.

Reports suggest that the the Munich club have made their interest known to Chelsea in a bid to test the water, but they are more likely to serious test Blues resolve with a bid in January 2016.

Should the west London side want to renegotiate his deal though, the signs are that he will likely stay put with his family settled in the country and the backing of oligarch owner Roman Abramovich.
