Manchester United misfit Angel Di Maria has received stinging criticism from supporters in the wake of another disappointing performance for the Red Devils.
The Argentina international, who has endured a torrid first campaign in English football following last summer’s £59.7m switch from Real Madrid, was slaughtered by fans who were asked to rate the players’ performances after the 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
A Manchester Evening News feature gave United followers the opportunity to have their say on Louis van Gaal’s men and Di Maria felt the full force of their anger by receiving a score of 3.4 out of 10 following a disappointing appearance as a second-half substitute.
Captain Wayne Rooney also failed to escape the criticism, with he and defender Paddy McNair getting the lowest scores of any of the players who started the contest at Old Trafford.
Only winger Ashley Young was awarded a mark that was higher than 6 by fans who saw their side lose their third successive game, and once again fail to find the back of the net.
United sit in fourth position in the Premier League table with three games remaining. They are four points ahead of bitter rivals Liverpool in fifth.
