Barcelona are getting ready to make a £50 million bid for Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey despite their current transfer ban, reports The Sun.
The 24-year-old is a key part of the Gunners midfield, but the Catalan club are interested with the impending departure of club legend Xavi on their minds. They will need at least one player to replace the Spain hero, and they apparently believe that Ramsey would fit perfectly into their system alongside Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta.
However, one stumbling block in a potential transfer is the ban that Barca are currently under. They are hoping to get around this by calling for a pardon after it was found that Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, and Valencia have made similar breaches in the rules around signing younger players.
Even if that doesn’t work they could try to sign the Wales international and loan him back to the North London club until January when the ban is scheduled to end, or come to an pre-agreement with the Gunners that a move will happen in the mid-season transfer window.
Either way a move would be massively detrimental for Arsenal, with Ramsey becoming key to their plans since recovering from a broken leg and returning to form. This season alone he has played 37 times, scoring nine goals and creating another seven despite being ruled out with injury for periods.
