Liverpool are poised to make an offer for Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo and striker Carlos Tevez with the duo set to be made available at the end of the season – in what is perhaps the most farfetched transfer gossip on the grapevine at present.
Reports from Italy, cited in the Daily Express, make the audacious claim that the if the Italian giants triumph in the Champions League final, Juve will put Andrea Pirlo and Carlos Tevez up for sale – and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will swoop on the experienced pair.
Football Italia quoted Palermo boss Giuseppe Iachini as revealing that the Serie A champions had agreed a deal with Paulo Dybala – who is rumoured to be the replacement to Argentina forward Tevez. The Express claim Rodgers believes that the former Manchester City attacker could be the man to feel the goalscoring void left by Luis Suarez.
What’s more, Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri is prepared to put Italy legend Andrea Pirlo up for sale in the summer transfer window, as the Italian wants to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso to take his place in the centre of the park. The 36-year-old is considered the ideal replacement to the departing Anfield icon Steven Gerrard.
