West Ham announce decision not to renew Sam Allardyce’s contract

Only three minutes after the full-time whistle was blown at St James’ Park on Sunday, the Hammers released a statement on their website announcing that they are searching for a new manager.

The club have already complied a shortlist of those they would like to succeed Big Sam, and former Chelsea boss Ancelotti is rumoured to be an ambitious candidate for the position, the Telegraph report.

According to the British paper, the Irons have made contact with Ancelotti’s representatives.

With Real Madrid having finished the season without silverware, the Italian’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu is uncertain, and West Ham want to tempt the 55-year-old to return to London.

The Hammers’ move to the Olympic Stadium is on the horizon, and joint-chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan are seeking a high-profile coach to lead them into a defining period in their history.
