Chelsea to beat Arsenal & Tottenham to signing of in-demand Ghanian midfielder

Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Cagliari Calcio midfielder Godfred Donsah.

According to the Telegraph, the Premier League champions are in pole position to secure the signature of the Ghanian, ahead of their fierce London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italian outfit, the British newspaper state, have accepted that they will have to cash in on Donsah this summer following their relegation to Serie B last season, and it seems likely that he will be heading to England.

With the financial prowess of the English trio, Cagliari could be foolish not to sell the 19-year-old.

Chelsea are said to have contacted Donsah’s representatives over a move to Stamford Bridge and look poised to beat Arsenal and Spurs to a deal this month.

The youngster scored two goals in 21 Serie A appearances last term, enjoying a breakthrough campaign, despite the club’s relegation.

He is valued at £4.2m, according to the Metro.
