Man United are keen on landing QPR forward Charlie Austin according to the London Evening Standard.

Louis van Gaal expects to welcome in AS Monaco teenager Anthony Martial in a £36m deal but is still short of striking options following the early summer sale of Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez’s move to Bayer Leverkusen yesterday.

QPR want £15m for Austin and though a number of clubs are keen on the 26-year-old England hopeful no club has come through with the requisite bid.

Charlie Austin bagged 18 goals in his debut season in the Premier League last term and that tally is all the more impressive when you consider QPR finished bottom of the table.

Louis van Gaal may feel the signing of Charlie Austin could help beef up his attacking options and one imagines the Loftus Road star would jump at the chance of a move to Old Trafford.

Charlie Austin has continued his good goal-scoring run in 2015/16 with four goals netted in five Championship appearances this term.
