Borussia Dortmund star distances himself from Klopp reunion at Liverpool

Liverpool could face a real battle to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he hinted that he would prefer a move to Spain as Barcelona continue to monitor his situation, the Daily Express reports.

The Reds are said to be keen on bringing the Gabonese international to Anfield, with speculation being ramped up following Jurgen Klopp’s arrival on Merseyside earlier this month. Klopp managed Aubameyang during his time as manager with the German giants.

The Express reports that a £35m offer was in the pipeline, as the Reds are thought on being keen on bolstering their attacking options thanks to a series of recent injuries.

However, it seems that Barcelona’s interest in his signature have got Aubameyang interested, as he revealed that he would only consider quitting Dortmund for a move to Spain.

“I’ve always dreamed of playing in Spain,” the Gabon international told German TV station ZDF.

“I am very happy at Dortmund […] but everyone knows that in the world of football things can change quickly.”
