Louis van Gaal has been determined to leave young stars at Manchester United when he finally leaves the club. And he may have found a potential star to bring to Old Trafford in the coming months.

According to the Metro, Manchester United have targeted Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi for a January transfer move. The Metro reported that Liverpool had also expressed significant interest in Berardi.

The 21-year-old Italian has scored 44 goals in 104 career appearances with the Serie A club. He has also been capped 12 times for Italy’s Under-21 team, scoring twice.

Man United and Liverpool have both had significant struggles from their forwards this season. Man United have been unable to get Wayne Rooney playing like his old self, while Liverpool have been dealing with a string of injuries to star strikers Christian Benteke and Daniel Strurridge.
