Alex Teixeira verbally agrees £30m Chelsea transfer

Shakhtar Donetsk striker Alex Teixeira has allegedly agreed to become Chelsea’s first signing of the post Jose Mourinho era by agreeing a verbal contract, according to the Daily Express.

The Blues have struggled for goals this term, with the likes of Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao under performing massively, leading them to take a closer look at the Brazilian hot shot, who has notched a goal a game so far this term.

Attentions have firmly turned to the state of the squad now that Mourinho has moved on and the club are looking to improve on all counts as they look to salvage their season.

And the Express claims that the 25-year-old has agreed to join the Blues with talks now ongoing surrounding personal terms and a fee with Shakhtar.

Teixeira is capable of playing either on the wing or up front, just behind the main striker, and certainly has the ability to kick start Chelsea’s flailing campaign.
