Chelsea rejected stunning £57m Chinese offer for playmaker Oscar

Chelsea had reportedly rejected an offer from Chinese giants Jiangsu Sunning for playmaker Oscar during the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

The big spenders had already shelled out £25million on fellow Blues midfielder Ramires in what many considered to be a shock move and attempted to follow it up with a deal to sign his compatriot.

However, the Blues knocked back their £57million approach, but the report states that Jiangsu will come back in for him again over the summer.

But they’re not going to stop there either, as reports earlier this week emerged that they are willing to offer Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure a stunning £15m-per-year deal after tax.

And they also seem to have got the jump on Chelsea and Liverpool for the signature of Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira by snapping him up for £38.5m.

“It’s true. We’ve sold him to China,” Shakhtar boss Mircea Lucescu said.
