Liverpool set to miss out on Alex Teixeira as Jiangsu Sunning prepare €50m move

Liverpool could be set to miss out on top target Alex Teixeira as Chinese giants Jiangsu Sunning look to launch their own €50million move for the Brazilian goal machine, according to Italian publication Calciomercato.

The Chinese Super League has seen a influx of European-based stars swell their ranks during the January transfer window, with the likes of Ramires, Gervinho, Fredy Guarin and Jackson Martinez all making their way to cash rich Asian league.

And now Jiangsu Sunning are expected to make their own offer to sign the Shakhtar forward, as the report states that talks between the two are ongoing and Teixeira could agree terms on a transfer very soon.

The Ukrainian giants are believed to be ready to accept Jiangsu’s offer, as it reaches closer to their valuation of the player, having rejected a reported €35m offer from Liverpool last month.

Fellow Premier League giants Chelsea had also been credited with an interest in his signature, but they failed to even make a bid.

If true, the rise of China’s allure could rival the money flowing into the Premier League right now and put a serious dent in the transfer plans of English sides ahead of the summer.
