PSG star set to defy the club and set up Arsenal move this month

Paris Saint Germain youngster Adrien Rabiot is set to defy the club’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi by slapping in a transfer request this month, according to the Daily Star.

The sought-after midfielder is believed to be keen on agreeing a six-month loan spell away from the club, but has been told be the hierarchy that he will not be allowed to leave.

The 20-year-old wants to ensure that he will be in Didier Deschamps’ mind ahead of the summer’s European Championships and knows that he needs more regular game time in order to be able to make the final squad.

Rabiot has only made 13 appearances for PSG this season, mostly because of injury to Marco Verratti, but that hasn’t stopped Arsenal from showing an interest, who are believed to be keen on a permanent deal and would be willing to cough up £15million for his signature.

However, Al-Khelaifi could make the move difficult, as he has not been happy with the attitude shown by Rabiot.

“I was very disappointed – I said it to his face. His statements are unacceptable,” he said.

“I didn’t appreciate at all that he declared that a loan would be a Christmas present. It’s a complete lack of respect towards his first club who did so much for him.

“The club will always be more important than any player.

“He’s a big talent. My dream is that he might become captain of PSG one day. But he has to respect the club, the coach and his teammates.

“He’s part of the PSG family and he should respect it. He understood the message. He’ll be there at 100 per cent in January.”
