Liverpool are believed to be closing in on the signing of Juventus centre-back Martin Caceres, according to Italian publication Calciomercato.
The Reds have reportedly been keeping tabs on the Uruguayan international and have been tipped to land his signature ahead of the likes of Inter Milan and Fenerbahce, who have both displayed their own interest in his services.
And it now seems that reports in Italy believe that a deal between the two sides is close to being finalised, with Caceres tipped to sign a contract to join at the end of the season with Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Caceres’ current deal expires over the summer, meaning that he is allowed to negotiate a new deal elsewhere this month, and though Liverpool are presently in the midst of a defensive injury crisis, it would appear that Klopp is now willing to pay the cash to bring him to England now.
