Arsenal willing to sell star player for £50m as Spanish giants circle

Barcelona are reportedly stepping up their interest in Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

Barca have made the Welshman one of their top transfer targets for 2016 and scouted him during Arsenal’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League last week, according to The Express.

The Express adds that the Spanish giants made advances on the 25-year-old midfielder last summer, despite being under a transfer embargo, but Arsene Wenger knocked back their approach.

However, The Express claims that the Gunners would not stand in his way again if Ramsey wanted to move to the Camp Nou to play alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar next season.

It would take a fee of £50m-£60m to persuade Arsenal to sell the former Cardiff City player, according to The Express, but Barcelona are convinced that Ramsey can help lead the club to more glory.

Ramsey will be a key member of the Wales side which is hoping to make an impression at Euro 2016, and any potential switch from the Emirates to La Liga is likely to wait until after the tournament.
