Chelsea agree deal to sign Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato

It’s a move that has been bubbling away for a few weeks now, but a report in ESPN Brazil is now claiming that a deal between Chelsea and Corinthians over a move for striker Alexandre Pato has finally been agreed.

A verbal agreement has been reached between the two powerhouses, and all that is left now is for the player to agree personal terms and complete a medical.

The report states that Pato’s agent has held lengthy discussions with Roman Abramovic’s aide Marina Granovskaia, and they have agreed that the 26-year-old will join the Blues on a three-year deal for a fee in the region of £9million.

It is believed that the move has been held up thanks to Pato’s agent dealing with Luis Adriano’s failed move from AC Milan to Chinese outfit Jiangsu Suning.

Pato will now sign in the next few days, though he isn’t likely to be available to face Arsenal at the weekend.
