Future England star close to sealing permanent Chelsea exit

Nathaniel Chalobah is said to be close to agreeing a permanent move to Italian giants Napoli as sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is due in London over the next few days to finalise the deal, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The 21-year-old, who is yet to make a first team appearance for the Blues, has been on loan with Napoli this season and has apparently impressed sufficiently to convince the Serie A side to take a gamble on signing him permanently.

He had been highly regarded by those at Stamford Bridge due to his ability in both defence and attack, but after a series of loan spells at lower league sides he now looks set to embark on a new advent overseas.

Napoli are currently perched at the top of the Serie A table and are hopeful of maintaining a strong squad depth in order to fend off the challenge from current champions Juventus.
