Barcelona coach reveals the one word he says to motivate Messi & co ahead of Arsenal bout

Luis Enrique, speaking ahead of Barcelona‘s Champions League bout against Arsenal on Tuesday, has revealed the secret behind keeping his world-class strikeforce firing on all cylinders.

The Barca coach’s success at the Nou Camp since replacing Gerardo Martino has been due, in no small part, to the Catalan giants’ glorious attacking trident of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

Just considering their contribution in the Spanish top flight, for example, demonstrates how devastating the South American trio are.

Suarez currently leads the top-scorer charts, having bagged 25 goals in 24 matches—three more than Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

Neymar currently stands fourth in the goal charts, having scored 18 in 22 league games this season, while Messi finds himself in sixth, having bagged 15 in 20 matches.

Their interaction and mutual understanding has also been evident throughout the campaign, with the three of them accumulation a whopping 26 assists in the league so far this term.

When asked in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Champions League bout against Arsenal—a side who appear primed to be the next victims for the glorious attacking trio—about how he motivates his strikeforce, Enrique had a simple answer.

“[I just say] abracadabra and the magic comes out,” the former Barca star began [quotes relayed by Sport], “It’s easy to work with the trident.

“They have freedom, but they also have defensive obligations. We all have the same objective, it’s very easy to coach them.”
