Liverpool‘s Kevin Stewart has signed a new contract with the club worth a reported £4.7 million.
The 22-year-old, who represented Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Liverpool in 2014, agreed a new deal with the Reds on Tuesday. According to Liverpool’s official club site, the midfielder’s contract will run until 2020 and, as disclosed by Football Insider, the player’s contract is worth an initial £4.7 million.
Breaking Stewart’s deal down, the midfielder is set to pocket £20,000-per-week, having impressed in recent weeks when given the opportunity by Jurgen Klopp.
Stewart failed to make his mark at Spurs, and was sent out on loan to Crewe Alexandra but ultimately failed to establish himself at White Hart Lane.
The Enfield-born player has also taken his time to earn his chance at Liverpool, spending time on loan with the likes of Cheltenham Town, Burton Albion and Swindon Town before being given the opportunity to impress by Klopp.
Stewart has featured four times in the FA Cup so far this season, while he made his Premier League bow—making a 24-minute cameo—as the Reds saw off Aston Villa 6-0 earlier this month.
