Trio of Liverpool youngsters sign new long-term contracts as Jurgen Klopp plans for future

Liverpool have announced that youngsters Kevin Stewart, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Woodburn have all penned new deals with the club.

Klopp has a track record throughout his managerial career of giving young players an opportunity and developing their talents to ensure that they become key first-team members.

It appears as though he believes Stewart, Alexander-Arnold and Woodburn have bright futures ahead, and is delighted to see these players come through the club’s academy and now push for a place in the senior squad moving forward.

“This is really positive news of course, and it’s brilliant we have acted decisively to show our intent with our young players,” he told the club’s official website.

Stewart is undoubtedly ahead of his teammates having already established himself in the first-team squad under Klopp, having now made 17 appearances for the club. At 23, some won’t consider him a young talent anymore, but ultimately he has a long future ahead of him with plenty of room for improvement.

Alexander-Arnold and Woodburn have been involved in the Liverpool youth set-up for many years, and they will undoubtedly be delighted to have earned themselves a long-term future at Anfield.

Time will tell as to whether or not these three individuals are capable of forming an important part of Klopp’s plans in the years to come, as they will have fierce competition for places which will only become more difficult if the Reds continue on their current path towards success.

Nevertheless, Klopp has shown his faith in their ability by ensuring that the club has offered them new deals, and now it will be down to them to prove that they deserve to be considered part of the long-term plan.
