Video: Cristiano Ronaldo in injury scare during Real Madrid training session ahead of Champions League final

Real Madrid have been given a real scare after Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to pick up a problem during training on Tuesday ahead of the Champions League final.

The Portuguese international and his teammates are preparing for the clash with rivals Atletico Madrid at the San Siro on Saturday night, with the Madrid giants contesting the final for the second time in three years.

However, Zinedine Zidane could now be presented with a huge selection headache ahead of the game judging by initial concern from the media and Ronaldo’s reaction as he trudged off the training field after Dani Carvajal pushed him from behind into the goalkeeper.

The 31-year-old struggled with a thigh strain a few weeks ago which forced him to miss the first leg of the semi-final encounter with Manchester City.

Having recovered and featured since, he was unsurprisingly in line to start against Atleti, but the Real staff, players and supporters alike will now face an anxious wait to hear more news on his fitness as the early signs aren’t particularly promising.

It is hoped from a Real perspective that it is just a precautionary measure, but it remains to be seen whether or not his participation this weekend is at risk.
