A new twist has been added to the N’Golo Kante transfer saga as Manchester United have entered the fray – and with an offer the club hopes will beat their bitter rivals.
According to the Metro via the Mirror, Man United manager Jose Mourinho is planning to submit a £22 million bid to Leicester City to jump ahead of Arsenal in the race for Kante. Per the source, Chelsea and PSG are also interested in the French central midfielder.
Kante was acquired from French outfit Caen this past summer in a £5.6 million switch, and he immediately became one of the most dominant central midfielders in the Premier League. He demonstrated superior skill in tackling, intercepting, creating lanes and dribbling – nabbing a goal and four assists during the season.
For his efforts, Kante earned a spot on the PFA Team of the Year and his first ever caps for the France national team. He has reportedly been offered a £100,000-a-week contract to stay at King Power Stadium.
