Andrea Pirlo hits out at fake Daily Mail interview regarding Paul Pogba with not-so-subtle Instagram post

After The Daily Mail ran an alleged interview with Andrea Pirlo on their site, the legendary Italian has denied ever speaking to the paper.

Amongst the topics covered in the chat was Paul Pogba, with Pirlo supposedly saying that the Juventus players ‘were laughing’ in training back in 2012 as they couldn’t believe Manchester United would allow the French starlet to join the Bianconeri on a free transfer.

The midfield ace has since gone on to re-join the Red Devils in a move worth €105m, and will be expected to make his ‘second debut’ for the Premier League giants this Friday night when they host Southampton at Old Trafford.

While Pirlo went on to praise Pogba’s ability in the interview, it turns out that he didn’t utter a word to The Daily Mail, as he took to Instagram on Monday to clear up the situation.

Given the length of his quotes, it’s quite a surprise to see the interview published, but it remains to be seen what the confusion was as ultimately the former AC Milan and Juventus midfield maestro has dismissed suggestions that he made those comments.
