Chelsea youngster Nathaniel Chalobah finally made his debut 2,190 days since he first made the bench aged 15 back on the 22nd September 2010 against Leicester City in the League Cup on Wednesday.
Chalabah broke the record for longest time spent between making the squad bench and starting a game in the process.
The 21-year-old made his debut four years after signing his professional contract and revealed on his official twitter account that he had finally achieved his dream following his first appearance.
‘I’m over the moon, it’s something I’ve dreamt about since I came to the club,' says @chalobah… https://t.co/6vmTKRoT2x pic.twitter.com/ZhespUPPLa
