Harry Kane’s influence and direct goal contribution would be a huge miss to any side, and judging by that first-half display from Vincent Janssen, Spurs do not have sufficient backup for the England international.
Going into tonight’s game against Bayer Leverkusen, Janssen had yet to replicate the goal-scoring exploits that saw him score 31 goals for Dutch side AZ Alkmaar last campaign. Kane’s injury, however, left him as the only first-team option to lead the line this evening.
He hasn’t had his shooting boots on tonight either, and some of the Spurs faithful are beginning to lose patience as he continues to misfire.
CaughtOffside has chosen a few that have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration, with some going as far as comparing him to former striker and flop Roberto Soldado.
Vincent Janssen has the acceleration of an asthmatic ant with heavy shopping.#BatteringRam #COYS

I know it’s early days but I’ve yet to see anything in Janssen that doesn’t make me think he is another Soldado.
