Man United transfer news: Wayne Rooney wanted by three-time Euro champions

The latest Man United transfer news comes from Italy, where it is claimed Wayne Rooney is wanted by Inter Milan.

Three-time champions of Europe Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney.

According to Calcio Mercato Web, Inter are thinking about making a move for the 31-year-old in June once they have appointed a new manager and pruned their current attack, which includes the likes of Mauro Icardi, Stevan Jovetic, Eder and Gabriel Barbosa.

The same publication also credit Chinese outfit Jiangsu Suning with an interest in Rooney, while suggesting that the player is determined to stay at Old Trafford until the end of the current season in order to win another trophy with United.

Rooney has already won five Premier League titles during his 12-and-a-bit seasons with United, as well as one FA Cup, two League Cups, plus the UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup in 2008.

One club trophy not on that list is the UEFA Europa League, which United could win this season.

The Red Devils are among the favourites to win the Europa League, although Roma, Zenit and various dropouts from Champions League will provide tough challenges.
