It’s fair to say that neither Arsenal fans nor their Manchester United counterparts are thrilled about the fact that Andre Marriner will officiate their clash this weekend.
With the international break drawing to a close, one of the most highly-anticipated clashes of the Premier League campaign pits the Gunners against United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
It will also allow Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho to reacquaint themselves with one another in what should be another interesting battle on the sidelines, although the man in charge of the encounter will also be under scrutiny too.
Marriner was in charge for the clash between Arsenal and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge a few years ago when he mistakenly sent off the wrong player after a mix up between Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kieran Gibbs.
That seemingly isn’t the only reason why both sets of supporters are concerned over the appointment, with the tweets below showing that they’ll agree on one thing this weekend at least…
Andre Marriner on Saturday. No Bellerin, Alexis and Santi. We are fucked.

The last time Andre Marriner officiated a big game it was Chelsea X Arsenal and he sent off Gibbs instead of Oxlade Chamberlain ?? #memories

Arsenal have won eight of the last nine fixtures with Andre Marriner as referee. The exception was the 0-6 defeat to Mourinho's Chelsea.

Andre Marriner has been appointed as the referee for Arsenal vs. Man United.
Here's hoping Wenger doesn't start ox and Gibbs together.
