Two Manchester United players who cost the Red Devils £50m combined can leave Old Trafford with no dramas in the New Year.
According to the Daily Mail, midfield misfits Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin are free to leave Old Trafford in January, and United manager Jose Mourinho will not stand in their way should they want to sign for Everton when the January transfer window opens.
Depay and Schneiderlin joined United in the summer of 2015 from PSV and Southampton respectively, each commanding a transfer fee of £25m, per the Mail Online.
However, neither player has started a single Premier League since Mourinho replaced Louis van Gaal in the United dugout, so both are seemingly dispensable.
The Mail report adds that Everton manager Ronald Koeman wants to sign Schneiderlin, having worked with the Frenchman at Southampton, while the Toffees boss is said to prefer a loan move for Dutchman Depay.
After beating Arsenal at Goodison Park on Tuesday night, Everton are just one point behind six-placed United in the Premier League table, although Mourinho’s men have a game in hand, which is a televised trip to Crystal Palace this evening.
