Last night Alexis Sanchez was linked with a move away from Arsenal.
The winger is apparently subject to interest from PSG, who are apparently willing to pay €70m for him.
It’s hard to imagine such a transfer happening in January, especially considering the Parisians have just spent decent money on Julian Draxler.
But as long as Arsenal continue their inconsistency the rumours will continue.
The fact that they allow so many players contracts to run down doesn’t help either, and instability creates instability. Until they can win a major trophy, their aura will continue to fade in the eyes of the world’s very top players. Someone of Sanchez’s quality and competitiveness won’t stay if they don’t really believe they can win something bigger than the FA Cup. It’s a harsh reality, but one that Arsene Wenger will be all too aware of as he tries to convince his team once again that he can lead them to the title.
