Man United set sights on 19-year-old Aston Villa starlet, player likened to former Red Devils legend

Man United fans could be about to see another young, English talent join the ranks at Old Trafford.

Keinan Davis, who’s currently plying his trade with Aston Villa under former United ace Steve Bruce, is reportedly a target for the Red Devils.

The forward, who joined Steve Bruce’s side from Stevenage in 2015, has attracted interest from United according to the Sun, with the news outlet also saying that the player has been likened to former Old Trafford star Dwight Yorke.

Davis had started this season in decent form, as the 19-year-old has scored two and assisted two in nine league games.

Since his move from Stevenage in 2015, the player has amassed a record of eight goals and 10 assists in 45 appearances at all levels for his side.

United have a very good record of giving chances to young, English talent, as Jose Mourinho’s side have given first team opportunities to Chris Smalling, Marcus Rashford and Phil Jones in more recent times, as well as the famous class of ’92 that included the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville.

The 19-year-old has been likened to Dwight Yorke as previously stated, and seeing as the former United star scored 64 goals in 149 appearances for the Red Devils, that comparison can only be seen as a compliment.

Should United end up going through with their reported interest in Davis, it’ll be interesting to see how high of a ceiling the player has, and what he can go on and achieve should he sign for the Premier League giants.
