Good news for Tottenham: Starlet has no intention of permanent exit

Tottenham youngster Josh Onomah has long been tipped for a bright future, and he’s currently showing why during his loan spell with Aston Villa.

The 20-year-old has made 18 appearances for Steve Bruce’s side, scoring three goals and providing one assist as he’s hugely benefitting from regular playing time and gaining experience after playing a pivotal role in England U20s success at the World Cup this past summer.

That’s arguably the biggest problem for many others he was in that squad with, as a number of them haven’t been able to get playing time to build on that momentum.

It remains to be seen whether or not he can play his role this season and help Villa secure promotion back to the Premier League, but looking at the long-term picture, Tottenham fans will be delighted to hear that he has every intention of returning to the club.

“Obviously I want to do well here and help Villa get promoted, then go back to my parent club and get back in the team,” Onomah said,” as reported by The Express.

“There is a lot of competition but that is football for you. You have to take it on board. Promotion is the aim now at Villa.”

While that will be music to the ears of Mauricio Pochettino who has shown he is more than prepared to give young English players an opportunity at Tottenham with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, and importantly help develop them further, it will be the completely opposite feeling for Bruce who would undoubtedly love to keep Onomah at Villa.

However, it sounds pretty clear as to what the player himself envisages happening, but time will tell if he gets the opportunities at Tottenham to keep him happy.
