Tottenham host Southampton in their final home game of 2017 at Wembley on Tuesday to kick-start the Boxing Day fun for the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side find themselves in fifth place ahead of kick off, just a point adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool, as they look to pick up a win to end the year on a high.
Having swept aside Burnley last time out with Harry Kane firing them to a 3-0 win at Turf Moor, they’ll be hoping for more of the same while Southampton don’t arrive in great form.
The Saints are without a win in their last six, and as a result they find themselves in 13th place in the standings, just three points clear of the bottom three.
As a result, Mauricio Pellegrino will be hoping for a timely boost with a shock result at Tottenham.
With regards to the home faithful though, they were delighted with the starting XI put out by Pochettino, with many specifically pleased with the decision to play Serge Aurier at right back again with Danny Rose complimenting him on the opposite flank.
Many were adamant that barring the absence of injured duo Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama, this is the strongest possible line-up that Tottenham can put out, and so they’ll be hoping that it ultimately results in a win for their side against Southampton on Tuesday.
