Alexis Sanchez has reportedly chosen Manchester United over Manchester City due to fears he would not always be first choice at the Etihad Stadium.
The Chile international is closing in on a move to Old Trafford in a stunning turnaround after months of links with a reunion with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola.
However, Sanchez has opted instead to work for Jose Mourinho as he is more confident of playing week in, week out and having a key role with the Red Devils.
According to Manchester Evening News, Guardiola’s habit of rotating from a number of world class names up front put Sanchez off sealing a move to City, despite his desire to work with Guardiola again.
The 29-year-old came close to joining the Sky Blues in the summer before Arsenal pulled the plug on the deal – but he now looks certain to be a United player in the coming days.
Reports elsewhere suggest Sanchez could even be in line to make his Manchester United debut against Burnley this Saturday.
