Alexis Sanchez is on the verge of being unveiled as a Man Utd player, and one pundit in particular believes he’s going to be a huge success at Old Trafford.
Having been spotted at Carrington on Sunday to undergo his medical before an image of Sanchez in his Man Utd kit at Old Trafford went viral on social media, an announcement is expected on Monday.
However, the discussion over what kind of impact the Chilean international’s transfer will have has been a major talking point for almost a week, and Jamie Redknapp believes that the Red Devils have got this one spot on.
“Some players are born to play for Manchester United and Alexis Sanchez is one of them. He can handle the pressure that comes with being part of this club,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
“Sanchez is a warrior who is blessed with incredible talent. He is a killer in the box who lives to score goals.
“With that star-studded squad, Manchester United are going to be a real force in the next couple of years.
“The fans will love him. Manchester United have a rich tradition of explosive, exciting forwards. Sanchez has a never-say-die ethic and will elevate training.”
Sanchez has struggled to hit his top form this season amid ongoing uncertainty over his future at Arsenal, but looking back on last year when he scored 30 goals and had 19 assists in 51 appearances for the Gunners, that is the talismanic player that United will hope that they’re signing.
Coupled with his intensity, work ethic and attacking flair, not only is he arguably a dream signing for United, but also for Mourinho who has long been looking for another wide player to fit into his system and the 29-year-old appears to tick all the right boxes.
