Video: Loris Karius commits another awful howler as Liverpool beat Tranmere in friendly

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius endured a nightmare end to last season after his howlers led to the defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev.

The 25-year-old made two decisive mistakes which led to goals from Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, as the Spanish giants ran out 3-1 winners on the night.

Naturally, the disappointment of costing his side hit him hard, as noted in his tweet below shortly after the game, and he would have been desperate to make a positive start to the new campaign to put it firmly behind him.

Unfortunately for the German shot-stopper, he hasn’t started as he would have hoped as during a thrilling 3-2 win over Tranmere Rovers as part of their pre-season preparations, Karius was guilty of making another mistake, as seen in the video below.

Errors such as these aren’t going to do much for his confidence, and it remains to be seen as to whether Jurgen Klopp continues to show faith in him or is forced to consider alternative options as Liverpool can’t afford to have the fear of Karius making a mistake burdening them.

The Reds did eventually run out 3-2 winners, with goals from Rafael Camacho, Sheyi Ojo and Adam Lallana securing the victory. However, it’s fresh question marks over Karius that will be the major talking point from the game it seems.
