Chelsea are eyeing up a potential move for AC Milan and Italy star Gianluigi Donnarumma as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois should the Belgian end up at Real Madrid this summer.

Corriere Dello Sport are stating that the Blues could move for Donnarumma if their current first choice shot-stopper end up signing for Los Blancos.

This has also been noted by the Sun, who are stating that the Blues have been linked with a move for the Italian for a while now, so it seems like there may be some legs to this story after all!

Chelsea are eyeing up Donnarumma should Courtois leave for Real Madrid

Courtois has been a fantastic servant for Maurizio Sarri’s side these last few seasons, with the Belgian often proving to be a key player in the club’s most recent title wins.

The Independent are reporting that the club are resigned to seeing the Belgian international move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, something that will come as a big blow for the Blues should the move go through.

The former Atletico Madrid-loanee was fantastic for his national team at the World Cup this summer, with him even managing to pick up the Golden Glove award for his string of superb performances.

Donnarumma could prove to be a risky purchase for the west London side should they go ahead with the move, as with him being just 19 years old, the Italian could prove to be vastly inexperienced, especially playing in a competition such as the Premier League.
