Julen Lopetegui green lights Real Madrid spending €100M+ to bolster key area, Serie A superstar being eyed up for transfer

Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui has given his side the thumbs up to splash out more than €100M to bring in a new forward this summer, with Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi being eyed up for a move.

With Cristiano Ronaldo now gone and Karim Benzema slowly declining, it’s clear for all to see that the Spanish giants aren’t going to be as strong going forward this season compared to previous.

And it seems like Lopetegui is thinking the same way, as as per Don Balon, the Spaniard has told the club that he’s ok with seeing them spend more than €100M on signing a new striker, and that one of their targets, Icardi, is desperate to secure a move to the Spanish capital.

Icardi is being eyed by Real Madrid as an option to bolster their forward line this summer

Icardi’s arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu, should it happen, would surely bring a smile to all Madrid fans’ faces.

The Argentine international is one of the best strikers in Europe, something that can be backed up by insane goal record these past few years.

The 25-year-old has scored 69 league goals in 101 appearances since the start of the 2015/16 season, a return that can only be bettered by a handful of players.

Icardi would surely continue to bag goals in La Liga if he ends up moving to Real, goals that will definitely help their fans get over losing Ronaldo to Juventus this summer.
