Done deal: Arsenal confirm exit as misfit secures £4m move, Jack Wilshere unveils him in Instagram post

Arsenal have confirmed that Lucas Perez has left the club and joined West Ham United on a permanent basis after a disappointing stint in north London.

The 29-year-old joined the Gunners in 2016, but managed to make just 21 appearances in his first season with the club.

Despite seemingly impressing Arsene Wenger when given an opportunity, it wasn’t enough to force his way into the line-up on a regular basis and in turn, he spent last season on loan at former club Deportivo.

As per the club’s official site, Perez has now left to join West Ham, while The Mirror add that it’s for a reported £4m fee, with the Spaniard leaving Arsenal having scored seven goals in those 21 outings for the club.

Given new boss Unai Emery has a wealth of options at his disposal in attack, including the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette, it was likely that Perez would continue to struggle to earn regular playing time at Arsenal.

With that in mind, an exit perhaps suits all parties, with West Ham continuing their recruitment push this summer as Manuel Pellegrini looks to oversee a much-improved campaign for the Hammers.

Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere seemingly couldn’t wait to see his new teammate unveiled as he took to Instagram to show Perez in the dressing room in his West Ham kit, as seen in the video below.

Wilshere also made the switch from Arsenal to West Ham this summer, and so the pair along with the other new arrivals will be hoping that they can inspire the club to a much higher finish in the Premier League this year. They begin the season with a tough trip to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday though.
