Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says Paul Pogba is his first choice penalty taker after Alexis Sanchez was seen trying to get the ball off him against Leicester City.

The France international duly scored from the spot to make it 1-0 to United against the Foxes early on as they went on to enjoy a 2-1 opening day victory at Old Trafford.

Pictures emerged, however, from the Metro, showing Sanchez and Pogba seemingly in disagreement over who should take the penalty after it was awarded.

Speaking after the game, Mourinho cleared the situation up – and it’s a message for Sanchez not to try to snatch the ball off his team-mate again any time soon!

The Red Devils boss praised Pogba’s penalty-taking abilities and insists he is his first choice to do so if he’s on the pitch, as quoted by BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone on Twitter.

United fans will just be glad to see Pogba play so well in a United shirt after a tricky time in England so far.

Arriving with plenty of expectation when he joined from Juventus in 2016, Pogba is yet to truly show his best form for his club, but he seemed to respond well to the added responsibility of being captain tonight.
