Cristiano Ronaldo found the back of the net in his non-competitive debut for Juventus at the weekend, and he was unsurprisingly delighted with his instant impact.
The 33-year-old ended a glittering nine-year spell with Real Madrid earlier this summer as he embarks on a new challenge in Italy.
Having enjoyed successful stints in England and Spain, it remains to be seen whether or not he can replicate that with the Turin giants moving forward, but the early signs are promising.
After being put through his paces by the Bianconeri since returning to pre-season following his World Cup exploits, he finally made his first appearance in the famous jersey of the Italian giants on Sunday and took just eight minutes to open his account.
Naturally, he’ll hope to make the same immediate impact in his competitive debut against Chievo this weekend, but having had a chance to link up with some of his new teammates, he’ll be pleased with how things are going thus far.
Massimiliano Allegri seems spoilt for choice in attack, but the Italian tactician will have to find the right balance for success too with Paulo Dybala, Douglas Costa and Mario Mandzukic just three of several attacking stars looking to join Ronaldo in the starting line-up.
As per his message on Instagram, the Portuguese superstar is a happy man for now.
“An exciting day, in a special atmosphere that tells the winning story of Juventus,” he wrote on Instagram, as seen below. “Thanks to all the fans for the great affection!”
