Julen Lopetegui demands Florentino Perez seal last-minute transfer away for Real Madrid star

Julen Lopetegui has asked Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to seal a transfer away for Los Blancos forward Borja Mayoral.

This is according to Don Balon, who note that Perez is planning to offer the Spaniard to Sevilla, and that Mariano Diaz will be the club’s back-up option up front when he arrives from Lyon.

21-year-old Mayoral probably won’t be missed by Real should he end up leaving, as the forward has often played a bit part role for Los Blancos since coming through the ranks at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Lopetegui wants Perez to get Mayoral out of Real before this week’s transfer deadline

The Spanish youth international has only made 31 appearances for Real since making his first team debut for the club in the 2015/16 season, scoring seven goals in that time.

With Karim Benzema looking back to his best for Los Blancos this season, it doesn’t seem like Mayoral would get much game time at all, something that makes a move away a smart choice for both him and the club.

Only time will tell if Real manage to get rid of Mayoral before this week’s deadline, or whether they’ll be stuck with the Spaniard for the time being.
