Former Man United star rules himself out of being named as next Red Devils boss should Jose Mourinho be sacked

Wales manager, and former Man United winger, Ryan Giggs has effectively ruled himself out of being named as Jose Mourinho’s replacement at Old Trafford should the former Chelsea boss be sacked.

This is according to the Sun, who note that the Mourinho is facing a lot of pressure with United, after his side lost 3-0 to Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham at home earlier this week.

The report also notes that Giggs has spoken about succeeding Mourinho as United, stating “No, I’d keep your money in your pocket if I was you!”, so it looks like the 44-year-old won’t be taking over the reigns at Old Trafford any time soon!

Giggs has basically ruled out a managerial to Man United should Mourinho be sacked

Mourinho definitely hasn’t made the start to this season that he would’ve wanted, as his side already sit six points behind league leaders Liverpool in the title race, and we’re not even in September!

United have suffered defeats in two of their three league games this season, one to Spurs, and the other to a 3-2 loss to minnows Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

Having finished 6th in his first season, and 2nd last season, Mourinho it yet to win the league title despite this being his third season at the club, something that he’s never managed to achieve in his career, as he’s always won the league in his second season with any club he’s been with at the latest.

If Mourinho is sacked, it’ll be hugely interesting to see who takes over from the former Real Madrid boss at Old Trafford, as the club look to win their first league title since 2013.
