Liverpool reportedly have an agreement in place to secure the €20m signing of Trabzonspor youngster Abdulkadir Omur.

The 19-year-old has been busy impressing in his homeland of Turkey this season, scoring two goals and providing five assists in 20 appearances in all competitions.

Capable of playing on the right side of midfield or in a more central role, it appears as though his form hasn’t gone unnoticed, with latest reports from Turkey suggested that Liverpool are in a strong position to snap him up.

According to Ajansspor, as translated by The Express, it’s claimed that the two clubs have a gentleman’s agreement in place over a €20m deal, with no official news or announcements expected until the end of the season.

In turn, it’s not expected that Omur will provide Jurgen Klopp with an immediate boost, but it’s another potentially exciting young player that the German tactician can work with and help improve and develop, should a move to Anfield be confirmed.

Klopp has done it successfully with several young players during his managerial career at Borussia Dortmund and now with Liverpool, and so as he looks to build a long-term cycle of success with the Merseyside giants, it appears as though the club is targeting younger players to help them sustain their push for trophies.

Time will tell if Omur is Premier League bound ahead of next season, but based on the report above, it’s suggested that an agreement is in place, and so now it’s in Trabzonspor’s court to advance the situation further as they’re said to be against announcing a deal immediately due to the expected fan reaction.
