Fabrizio Romano has an exciting Manchester United transfer update as they have reportedly sealed the signing of 17-year-old Colombian wonderkid Cristian Orozco.

The South American teenager looks to be on his way to Old Trafford in a $1m transfer from Fortaleza, with Romano reporting that he’ll sign a contract that is valid from summer 2026.

See below for more details from Romano from his official account on X, formerly Twitter, as he announced this exciting Man Utd signing for the future…

Romano posted: “Manchester United have now sealed and signed deal to bring in 17 year old Colombian talent Cristian Orozco. $1m transfer fee from Fortaleza in deal valid from summer 2026. #MUFC lawyers approved all the contracts, deal coordinated by lead scout Antonaccio. Here we go.”

Manchester United building for the future with smart transfer

Orozco looks like a fine signing for United as they look to smarten up their recruitment after so much big spending on failed signings in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.

MUFC have really gone backwards on and off the pitch, failing to keep up with some of their rivals in terms of recruitment in particular.

Orozco is the kind of signing one could imagine Brighton making in recent times, with talents like Moises Caicedo plucked from relative obscurity on the cheap before being sold to Chelsea for a major profit.

If United can start to find these gems as well, it should do them the world of good as they look to get back to being a force in the game without making so many expensive mistakes in the transfer market like they have done with flops like Jadon Sancho, Antony, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
